Nearly Ready for Christmas
Tonight I finished wrapping Christmas gifts and decided on the menu for Christmas Eve dinner. Friday the house will get cleaned, and I'll go buy the groceries. So I guess I'm on track to be ready for Christmas.
Dave and I are enjoying the 40-inch HDTV. The Chargers look especially phenomenal on it. (What a season they're having!) Brenden's old room is now an exercise room, complete with a treadmill, stationary bike, Bowflex, inversion machine, dumbbells, and a TV. All this was crammed in Dave's office before now. I'm sure he will use the home gym more than I will. I have a fitness club membership and I like going there. (Since I work at home, I have to get out of the house sometimes!)
Brenden came over yesterday to help Dave move the exercise equipment. He had a good attitude overall, but didn't really say anything to me. I had called him a few days before that and left a voice mail inviting him to come to Christmas Eve and Christmas Day family gatherings. He didn't call me back. As he was leaving yesterday, Dave brought up the subject and told Bren he should plan on being with us. He didn't reply either way, really, so I'm not sure what to think. I'll call him again the end of this week.
My anger toward Brenden has mostly dissipated. I'm ready to move into a new phase for our relationship, as long as it's respectful and loving. But he hasn't approached or responded to me in any way since he left, and that's painful to me. I miss the aspects of our relationship that were good. I miss the humorous side of his personality and how he made me laugh. We definitely had a strong bond between us, and that's what made it so hard when he became increasingly difficult in recent months. I hope it doesn't take too long to reformat our relationship in a healthy way.
No new news with Breanna. Have I mentioned she's leaning toward the name "Cassidy" for the baby? That could be cute. Middle name is undecided. Last name will be Garrison.

I'll conclude this post with a pretty picture of tonight's sunset down at the Oceanside pier. I was walking on the beach with my friend, Rosemarie, and snapped some shots. Enjoy.
If I don't post again before Christmas, have a wonderful day and please remember how it all started. God bless you and those you love this holiday season!
