Post-Op Report

Well, yesterday was my post-op appointment. Unfortunately, I don't exactly get to throw the crutches away yet, but I'm using them in conjunction with a walking boot until I can bear weight completely on my right foot. It's much better, though, just being able to bear SOME weight on the right. When the splint and the dressing came off my foot, I was appalled at how my ankle looks! There's a 2" incision, which had about 7-8 stitches in it (those came out), and my toes are black and blue! Ugly, ugly!!! I will have quite a scar for the rest of my life to remind me of this ordeal. My next appointment is in two weeks. I may get out of the boot then, or I could need it another week or two. That means no driving for a while yet (until I'm out of the boot). ARRGGHHHH!!!! So, so frustrating. But I am thankful for this step in the healing direction.
